Established in 2023, The Slamannan Library Garden Club meets twice a month at the Slamannan Library on alternate Thursdays from 5-6.30pm.
Membership is open to anyone interested in gardening, so whether you’re an experienced gardener or a novice looking to get started growing some vegetables from seed, you’re more than welcome to come along!
The group gets together to share advice and swap plants from our gardens over a cuppa and some biscuits, and occasionally some home baking. Recently, we've started planting in the village and helping to make our public spaces 'greener'. We grow not only flowers, fruit and veg, but a community, too! 🌸🍎🥕♥️

As part of Falkirk Council's regeneration plan for Slamannan, the village cross has been transformed! This exciting new space now includes new paving, seating, trees and a ‘pocket park’. We were given permission to help design and plant two borders in this beautiful new park - thank you, Falkirk Council! 🌟✨
In May 2026, we planted our borders with a range of wildlife-friendly flowers. These include a mixture of herbaceous perennials (which come back every year), along with colourful annuals and biennials that will encourage bees, butterflies and insects. And keep your eyes open for our bee post!🐝 We look forward to taking care of these plants, our new park and growing together with our community in the coming years!
Here are some photos of the new park and our beautiful plants:
Come and join us - let's get growing together! 🌱🌸☺️
We are a small group of volunteers, and so rely on funding from the community to help us make Slamannan a greener village.
